Using Static Pulse to Kite with Mage (EQ2 Zone Map)
October 9th, 2007An effective way to level safely as a very low level mage is through the use of static pulse.
Static pulse slowly drains the life of a mob, and can be cast from a great distance. A great tactic while leveling up to level 7 or so is to use static pulse on a mob, and immediately begin backpedalling. When you are confident enough life has been drained from the mob throw a Lightning Burst to finish the mob off. This is great for coastal crabs, and even the Goblin invaders. Just ensure you cast the static pulse from a great distance.
As you increase in level and gain the chains spell (which locks enemies into place), you can continue using this strategy on higher level mobs.
